While its doors are being opened more broadly for the first time, over the years the cottage has hosted numerous folks whom have stayed in different capacities - from musician friends making an album, to those walking the Lakeland fells, or metabolising bereavement, writing a book, working on ethical causes, volunteering on the grounds, or putting down roots to make it their home for a while. “Walked into Caldbeck village via the Howk and then had lunch at the cafe in Priest’s Mill. Walked on to Hesket Newmarket and after ‘sampling’ a few beers in the Old Crown, walked back. Fabulous night sky.”
